We usually ask our readers if they are looking for a fun event to bring family and friends too. But this time, we’re telling you…you MUST come out to the Pecan Street Festival May 1 and 2! It is simply too much fun to miss!
The Pecan Street festival is a true Austin tradition. For over 30 years people have been coming down to Sixth street to enjoy shows for the kids, live music, great food, and some of the greatest arts and crafts around! The Pecan Street Festival is a juried arts and crafts festival with over 300,000 people in attendance generating up to $43 million in economic impact.
What makes the festival truly special is its tie to the community. Part of festival proceeds go to benefit local charities including the Austin Boxer Rescue, Friends of the Planetarium, United Care USA, and of course the Old Pecan Street Association, an organization designed to preserve and beautify Sixth street.
This is where LifeWorks comes in! LifeWorks will have 5 booths set up selling water and sodas throughout the festival area. How will you find us? Volunteers will be wearing LifeWorks tees and will have signs up on the booths. LifeWorks will receive 20% of the sales from the drink booths AND a donation from festival proceeds.
So come on down, buy a quilt rack and grab a sausage on a stick, just be sure to buy your drinks from a LifeWorks volunteer!
