Remember how stressful finals and term papers were? Maybe you’ve been out of college for a while, but either way you KNOW how intense they can be.
What’s the solution to relieving this stress? For students from the University of Texas at Austin…it’s stripping down to their skivvies, and going for a brisk mile long run, all the while giving something back to the community….
And no, it’s not a joke! Students and community supporters arrive at Pluckers on Rio Grande at 4pm for a pre-run party overdressed in layers of clothing. When the whistle blows everyone strips down to their undies and runs, and the piles of clothes are donated to charities like LifeWorks.
But that’s not all! This year, the run will be sponsored by AXE body spray and they’ve incorporated a contest. The donated clothes will be weighed in and compared to other university totals around the country and a winning city will be determined based on pounds of clothes. So, you don’t have to run to participate — all you need is extra clothes. Two years ago, the Austin runners donated over 1400 clothing items to charity. AXE staff will be giving out free samples and hanging out all night.
So join LifeWorks and the UT community on May 7th for the 3rd Annual Undie Run! It’s guaranteed to be a lively event.
