One of our favorite things about July, besides swimming and eating hotdogs and icecream, is preparing for the Home Improvement Challenge. Each year teams get together to help us change the lives of our clients one room at a time.
This year H-E-B, American Campus Communities, New York Life, Dave Wieland, Dell WWP, and LifeWorks Board of Directors will be painting, building, problem-solving and decorating all in the name of charity. Each team will have a chance to meet their clients and find out a little about their style. Then they will work together to come up with a design and plan for renovating a room or two in the client’s apartment.
Thanks to sponsorships, LifeWorks provides each team with a little spending money to purchase supplies and furniture. The teams then get to work and have one day to complete the room makeover. Teams enjoy getting their hands dirty, hanging out at lunch and challenging other teams, but the surprise and smiles at the end of the day are the best part.
